KARL KUHLMAN

MARK KUHLMAN

ZACH KUHLMAN

My name is Mark Kuhlman,

I was born and raised in Findlay, Ohio. My father (Karl) was the owner and operator of Karl Kuhlman’s Body Shop in Findlay, Ohio for thirty years until his retirement.

In 1987, my father took me to Millstream Speedway for my very first race, and I immediately became a dirt track racing fan. Over the following years my father and I traveled many miles going to the races together, but on Sunday evenings we were always back at Millstream Speedway.

While growing up, my father painted many race cars for local drives in Findlay, eventually I had the opportunity to paint a few race cars and helmets too. Along with painting race cars for local Findlay drivers, my father and I also had the chance to help work on some race teams along the way too.

In 2014 when Millstream reopened under Randy and Lisa Hammer, my father, our son Zach, and myself (three generations of Kuhlman’s) sat on the turn four hillside for the reopening.

Seven years laterr in 2018 our son Zach (age 20) began racing go karts, competing in the Jr. 3 division. For several years he struggled in school with having ADHD, after a long period of time with no improvement with various types of treatment, we made the decision to start racing.  From that point on he made a tremendous improvement to the point to where he no longer was struggling.

During his junior year of high school he became a student at our local vocational school in their welding program. Zach made the academic and vocational honor roll every semester. During his senior year, he began working a full-time welding job working forty-eight hours a week while completing his academic requirements. He continued to make the academic and vocational honor roll and was inducted into the National Honors Society. Upon graduating from high school, Zach continues to work as a full-time welder.

In October of Zach’s rookie year (2018) my father  unexpectedly passed away, this was a huge loss for all of us, especially when it came to our shared passion for dirt track racing. Because of this, we adopted the phrase “Doing it for Pa” in honor and memory of my father.

2024 was  Zach’s sixth year of racing go karts, and we are currently in the process of making a transition to a dirt track super stock stock car. While the main track that we are planning to race at regularly will be Oakeshade Raceway (Wauson, Ohio), along with  Limaland Speedway (Lima, Ohio), possibly Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio), and hopefully Millstream Speedway (Findlay, Ohio) pending their 2026 schedule.

We are currently seeking businesses and individuals that would be willing to come alongside of Zach as a sponsor for the 2026 racing season. We offer a variety of levels that can fit any budget.

If you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
